London Towers standing tall

Haribo London Towers stretched their advantage at the top of the British Basketball League Championship Southern Conference with a 93-86 victory over the Nurishment Leicester Riders.  

The Towers trailed 68-61 at three-quarter time but posted a 13-2 final quarter to secure the win.

Westfield Sharks Sheffield moved clear top of the Northern Conference with a 99-91 victory over the Derby Storm despite 44 points from Jermaine Brown.

Natural Flow Newcastle Eagles strengthened their hold of third spot in the BBL Championship Northern Conference with a 112-107 overtime victory over the Pertemps Bullets Birmingham.

Eagles' Brian Ehlers (35 points) helped his side to nine unanswered points in the extra period to seal the win.

Milton Keynes Lions avenged their Uni-ball Trophy quarter-final defeat, running out 85-82 victors over the Thames Valley Tigers.

The Tigers fought back hard after the Lions had taken a 61-42 lead but came up just short.

Manchester Giants strengthened their play-off hopes with a 95-83 success over the London Leopards despite missing Justin Phoenix and Brian Reese.

Brighton Bears secured a much-needed victory on Saturday night, Demetric Reese scoring a game high 22 points on the way to a 70-64 victory.
