Charlton played out of their skins to finish ninth last season and although they haven't quite managed to emulate that feat this time around, the main thing is that they have survived. Tomorrow, they go to Old Trafford which could still be full of glum faces on and off the pitch following Wednesday night's defeat by Arsenal and the realisation that, with nothing to polish this summer, they can put the Brasso away for a few months.
