Mantells star for Reading

Premier League champions Cannock and Premiership winners Reading underlined their dominance of English club hockey as the new season got under way.

Cannock won 6-2 at Teddington, while the Mantells stole the show as Reading won 6-3 at home to Canterbury. Richard Mantell scored twice and brother Simon once.
