Martinez fit to face Brazil

Costa Rica defender Gilberto Martinez needed two stitches above his right eye after yesterday's 1-1 draw with Turkey but will be fit to face Brazil in his side's final Group C match.

Team doctors said today that Martinez would be able to train with the rest of the squad ahead of the clash in Suwon on Thursday.

Martinez was kicked in the head yesterday as he stooped to clear the ball from inside his penalty area and had to leave the pitch for attention but returned with his head heavily bandage.
