McGhee: More to come from Millwall

Mark McGhee believes there is still room for improvement after the 2-0 win for Millwall which sent Wimbledon to the bottom of the First Division.

A penalty from Neil Harris and a late strike by substitute Noel Whelan gave Millwall their first win in six attempts but the manager knows they will have to get better if they are to challenge for promotion.

McGhee said: "We should win at home against a very young, inexperienced Wimbledon team, but if we were playing West Ham it would be different.

"We know we have a lot of work to do, but at least the spirit and willingness is there. I'm delighted he scored but there's still a Noel Whelan inside of him that we haven't seen yet."

Wimbledon boss Stuart Murdoch was adamant that Millwall winger Paul Ifill had dived to win the 45th minute penalty which Harris converted.

Murdoch said: "Their player fell at least three or four paces past the goalkeeper."
