Conor McGregor has announced confirmation of his UFC trilogy bout against Dustin Poirier.

‘The Notorious’ revealed on social media on Saturday that, as expected, the eagerly anticipated third showdown between the lightweight rivals will take place at UFC 264 on July 10 - likely in Las Vegas.

“The fight is booked! July 10th you’re gonna see what the Mac is about. Adjust and absolutely f*****g destroy! #BilliStrut,” McGregor posted on Twitter in typically confident fashion.

The Irishman will be out for revenge after the main event at UFC 257 on ‘Fight Island’ in Abu Dhabi in January, when Poirier destabilised his opponent with a series of punishing calf kicks before forcing a sensational second-round stoppage with a barrage of punches.

Such an emphatic triumph saw ‘The Diamond’ finally successfully avenge his 2014 defeat, when he was easily stopped in the first round of a featherweight contest at UFC 178.

McGregor rued his inactivity after losing on only his second octagon appearance since 2018 and promised a swift return to action.
