Mears signs up for longer Bath time

14 April 2012

Bath hooker Lee Mears has signed a new two-year contract with the Zurich Premiership club.

Mears, who helped Bath reach the Powergen Cup final with an extra-time victory over Gloucester last weekend, has committed his future at the Recreation Ground until at least 2007.

"Lee has served a long apprenticeship with the club, and after patiently waiting for his chance, he is now making the most of the opportunity," said Bath rugby director Jack Rowell.

Mears joined Bath as a teenager in 1998 from Bristol school Colston's, and has enjoyed an extended first team run this season in the absence of an injured Jonathan Humphreys.
