Mikael issues ultimatum

Mikael Forssell today told Claudio Ranieri to make him part of his plans or allow him to join another club.

The Chelsea striker is on loan at Birmingham until January but wants to find a permanent club in time for next season.

Forssell has started just 11 games for Chelsea since he signed for them five years ago and has been loaned out to Crystal Palace twice, Borussia Moenchengladbach and now Birmingham.

The Finland international would prefer to play for Chelsea but is seeking reassurance from manager Ranieri. He said: "Chelsea have been my main target and still are but after this season I will have a choice. Chelsea will have to tell me what they want. I wouldn't want to go back on loan.

"I've never had any problems going out on loan but I would like to go somewhere where I can feel they are my club."

Forssell, who has scored four goals in seven league starts for Birmingham, believes he could command a regular position at Stamford Bridge.

He added: "If Chelsea take me back it must be as one of their main strikers or they should sell me. I don't want to come on as a sub again.

"I wouldn't be interested even if they won the Champions League and I sat on the bench. I want to be part of something when I play."
