Morley out for six weeks

12 April 2012

Warrington's Great Britain forward Adrian Morley will be out for at least six weeks with a fractured eye socket.

The former Leeds and Sydney Roosters favourite sustained the injury to the left side of his face in an accidental collision with Wigan prop Eamon O'Carroll on Friday night.

It means he will be sidelined until April and will miss the fourth round of the Carnegie Challenge Cup.

Warrington's 16-10 opening-round win came at a high price, with stand-off Chris Bridge tearing a hamstring in the early minutes.

The former Bradford player is also out for a minimum of six weeks.

The blows will have taken some of the gloss of Warrington's outstanding win at the JJB Stadium but coach Paul Cullen tried to put on a brave face.

"We are hardened by last season's injury crisis and are very proud of the way the team responded to the two losses to secure the win at Wigan," he said.
