Moxon gives positive Vaughan update

12 April 2012

England captain Michael Vaughan's chances of appearing in next week's first Test against the West Indies at Lord's have improved according to Yorkshire's director of cricket Martyn Moxon.

Vaughan suffered a frustrating return to county action when he fractured a finger against Hampshire. His appearance for Yorkshire was designed to help him regain his form and match sharpness ahead of England's summer programme, but although his injury jinx has struck again, Moxon believes he has a chance of leading his country out next Thursday.

He told Sky Sports News: "He's definitely improved since last week. I don't know whether they've made a decision or not but he's getting better."

He added: "I've not had a chance to speak to him yet (on Thursday) but hopefully we'll know by early next week."
