Mullins eyes Premiership job
13 April 2012
Crystal Palace midfielder Hayden Mullins admits he must win promotion to the Premiership to have a hope of ever playing for England.
Mullins, who represented England at Under-21 level, saw team-mate Clinton Morrison win his first cap for Ireland and score against Croatia in their 2-2 draw this week.
The 22-year-old said: "I do hope to play for England one day, but because I am playing in Division One, I am out of the selection net.
"I am not jealous of Clinton. When I was playing in the Under-21s he was always encouraging me and backing me all the way. I will do the same for him. He deserves the recognition."
Palace play Stockport tomorrow without midfielder David Hopkin, who will miss the game with an ankle ligament injury.
