Murray all set for wild time in Paris

13 April 2012

Andy Murray was today drawn to play French wildcard Jonathan Eysseric in the first round of the French Open, which begins in Paris on Sunday.

Murray was beaten in the first round on his only previous appearance at Roland Garros in 2006 and admitted recently he would view it as a success if he survives into the second week.

The British No1, ranked 11th in the world, missed the clay-court Grand Slam event last year due to a wrist injury.

Should he get beyond left-hander Eysseric, Murray will play either Slovakia's Dominik Hrbaty or Jose Acasuso, of Argentina.

World No1 Roger Federer will begin his quest for a first French success against American Sam Querrey. Rafael Nadal, who is going for his fourth successive title, will face a qualifier.

Sebastien Grosjean, a former semi-finalist, has pulled out with a shoulder injury.
