Murray and partner win title in Memphis

12 April 2012

Jamie Murray succeeded where younger brother Andy failed by winning back-to-back ATP Tour titles on Sunday.

The 21-year-old and doubles partner Eric Butorac clinched the Regions Morgan Keegan Championships doubles crown to add to last week's success at the SAP Open in San Jose.

Playing Julien Knowle and Jurgen Melzer, Murray and Butorac were comfortable 7-5 6-3 victors in Memphis.

A tight first set looked like going to a tie-break until the 12th game, where Murray and Butorac secured the crucial break.

The second also went with serve until game eight, when another break and a successful hold sealed victory.

Andy Murray, who successfully defended his singles title in San Jose, was on course to mirror his brother's achievement until he lost to top seed Andy Roddick in Saturday's semi-final.

Roddick then lost 6-3 6-2 to defending champion Tommy Haas in Sunday`s final.
