Murray hoping to hit overdrive

Andy Murray knows anything less than a high octane performance in the second week of Wimbledon will see his title mission hit the skids.

Murray hopes to find overdrive this week as he steps up his quest for title glory on Sunday, but Frenchman Richard Gasquet is a fourth-round threat and has proven previously that he can give Britain's number one some anxious moments on grass.

In 2008 they met in Wimbledon's fourth round and Murray came from two sets and a break down to win. The Scot said: "I have a very tough match against Gasquet, a guy who I have had a couple of close matches against in the past so I expect a really tough one."

He added: "Obviously I want it to go in my favour, that's what I plan on doing, but you need to go out and have a gameplan and execute it well to beat guys like Gasquet.

"The two times I have played him in grand slams I have found myself two sets and a break down both times so I expect a very tough game."

Murray told BBC Five Live's Sportsweek programme: "It gets harder with every single round."

The 24-year-old Scot's predecessor as Britain's top player, Tim Henman, knows all about the challenges of Wimbledon's second week. He reached four semi-finals in five years, whereas Murray has got through to the last four twice, in 2009 and 2010.

Henman believes Murray must find something exceptional to deny Wimbledon's 'big three' - defending champion Rafael Nadal, six-time winner Roger Federer and the hottest player on the circuit this year, Novak Djokovic.

"I think they're fractionally ahead. They've got 28 slams between them. But I think Andy is a very close fourth," Henman told Press Association Sport.

"The distance between third and fourth is much closer than the distance between fourth and fifth, so Andy has definitely separated himself from the pack."
