New Chelsea boss holds the key for Wright-Phillips and Sidwell

Shaun Wright-Phillips and Steve Sidwell are refusing to leave Chelsea until they know who the new manager is.

Both players struggled to make an impression last season, with Wright-Phillips spending a fourth season in the doldrums at Stamford Bridge.

Portsmouth are confident of signing him for an initial £8million, while Aston Villa have agreed a £5m fee for Sidwell.

Wright-Phillips, 26, joined the Blues in a £21m deal from Manchester City in 2005 while Sidwell, 25, on £50,000 a week, made just seven Premier League starts last season following a free transfer from Reading.
