New deal for Nixon

12 April 2012

Wicketkeeper Paul Nixon has signed a new contract with Leicestershire.

Nixon, who played for England during the World Cup earlier this year, has been made club captain after agreeing a three-year deal.

All-rounder Jim Allenby has also signed a two-year contract, while senior coach Tim Boon will stay at Grace Road until 2010 after agreeing an extension.

Current club captain Jeremy Snape will focus on his role as a one-day specialist and sports psychologist.

"Paul will be a role model captain with his sheer professionalism and enthusiasm," said Boon.

"Jim has made tremendous strides forward as a player over the last two years, and has the potential to become a good captain in time."
