New father Sutton links up with Celtic

Celtic striker Chris Sutton has flown out to Turin to join his team-mates following the premature birth of his son.

Sutton declared himself ready to face Juventus in the club?s first ever Champions League group fixture after 3lbs James was pronounced healthy.

Sutton, 28, said: ?Apart from being premature and being small and light, everything is fine.?

Wife Samantha had given birth 11 weeks early and UEFA gave Sutton permission to fly into Italy late.

Meanwhile, Edgar Davids is ready to make a Champions League comeback for Juventus.

The Dutch midfielder is available again having completed a four-month ban after testing positive for nandrolone.

He said: ?I would like to think I am in good physical condition because I have trained with my team-mates and things have gone well.

?It is true that there may be a danger in playing me, because I have not played for four months but I really want to show what I am capable of.?

Juventus manager Marcello Lippi must decide whether to change a side who have won their first three Serie A matches to accommodate Davids but the coach hinted the Dutchman would be involved.

?He is one of the best midfielders in the world,? said Lippi.

?He will not be 100 per cent but in three or four matches we will see the old Davids.?

Celtic manager Martin O?Neill admitted losing Lubo Moravcik was a huge blow.

Celtic arrived in Turin yesterday without the Slovakian, who injured an ankle during Saturday?s 4-0 Premier League victory at Dundee.
