New Rangers bid for Ferguson

Blackburn are in fresh talks with Rangers over midfielder Barry Ferguson.

The Glasgow club have already had one £3million offer for the Scotland captain rejected by Rovers, who bought him just 18 months ago for £6.5million.

Blackburn insist they will not allow the player to leave unless Rangers double their first offer.

Rovers boss Mark Hughes said last night: "There has been contact with Rangers this afternoon but I do not know the outcome of that."

Ferguson did not play against Bolton last night and Hughes said the player had been for a scan on a groin strain.
