Clive Woodward indicated that Jason Robinson?s days on the England bench are over after witnessing his contribution to Sale?s 37-11 win over Newcastle.

Robinson, an automatic choice for the Lions in Australia this summer, has yet to start a game for his country.

Three appearances as a replacement in the Six Nations Championship comprise his England career, but Woodward hinted strongly that the former rugby league star will start against Ireland in Dublin on October 20.

In addition to a 47th-minute try, Robinson brought the crowd to their feet with a blistering 60-yard-run.
