Newcastle ready to offer Duff in bid to land West Ham defender Ferdinand

Kevin Keegan is willing to offer Damien Duff in a bid to land Anton Ferdinand from West Ham.

And the Newcastle boss may also be preparing to lose Nigeria striker Obafemi Martins after he appeared to open the door to a move to Arsenal last night.

Keegan is desperate to sign Ferdinand after selling Czech Republic international David Rozehnal, and has a ready-made replacement for Duff in new Argentine signing Jonas Gutierrez.

Meanwhile Martins, who has been linked with a move to Arsenal throughout the summer, refused to close the door on a move to the Emirates.

He said: 'It is a good thing people are talking about Arsenal because everyone wants to play for Arsenal - they are a big club in the Champions League.'
