Fact: Northampton, who are unbeaten in their last four games, haven't won at Griffin Park since January 1988
Recommended pub: Royal Oak (38 New Road)
A brace of goals from Andy Scott, taking his tally to 15 for the season, made it a happier New Year for Brentford's patient supporters and their team. Scott will take his place again tomorrow after the club turned down a £400,000 bid from Danny Wilson at Bristol City. With Ray Lewington performing so ably at the helm since Ron Noades' strategic withdrawal, Brentford could move onto the same points total as tomorrow's opponents if they pick up another three points. Perhaps earlier rumours of a Bees slide were just a load of old Cobblers, after all.
VERDICT: POINT ONLY
