Ogilvy claims CA title

12 April 2012

Geoff Ogilvy parred the final nine holes to claim a one-stroke victory at the CA Championship in Florida.

The Australian, two strokes clear with nine holes remaining when the final round resumed on Monday, was not at his best but did enough to limp across the line for his first victory in nearly two years.

Helped by an unlikely chip-in par at the 13th hole, he carded a 71 to finish at 17 under - one clear of Fiji's Vijay Singh, American Jim Furyk and South African Retief Goosen.

Tiger Woods' streak of seven consecutive victories ended when he finished two strokes behind, although he gave himself a glimmer of hope with three late birdies.

"I made too many mistakes," admitted Woods, who shot a 68.

England's Graeme Storm carded a 71, finishing four shots adrift.
