Onions in as Woakes ruled out

Chris Woakes has been ruled out of the remainder of England's one-day international tour of India with a thigh strain, and will be replaced by Graham Onions.

Woakes has not played in either of England's back-to-back defeats so far, in a five-match series which continues at Mohali on Thursday. Durham seamer Onions last played for England in the Cape Town Test against South Africa in January 2010 before suffering a career-threatening back injury.

A statement from the England and Wales Cricket Board read: "England bowler Chris Woakes has [on Wednesday] been ruled out of the remainder of England's one-day international tour of India due to a left quadriceps strain."

It continued: "Woakes suffered the injury on Sunday during England practice in Delhi and will now undertake a rehabilitation period that rules him out of the remaining three ODIs against India.

"Durham's Graham Onions has been called into the squad as a replacement and will join the England squad in Mumbai ahead of the fourth ODI."
