Orient facing FA punishment

14 April 2012

Martin Ling and Leyton Orient face disciplinary action by the Football Association after their 1-0 defeat at home to Cambridge.

The Orient manager was furious with referee Grant Hegley, who booked six Orient players, sent off Ciaran Toner and ordered a Matt Lockwood penalty to be retaken.

Ling said: "It was the worst display I've ever seen. He wanted to be the star of the show."

The club will be hit with a mandatory FA fine of £1,000 for six bookings and there could be further action over Ling's comments. Hegley said: "Everyone's entitled to their opinion."
