Orient hopeful over Lockwood injury

13 April 2012

Leyton Orient hope defender Matthew Lockwood will be fit for Sunday's Third Division clash at Rochdale.

Lockwood missed the 2-0 home defeat by Southend with a knee injury but Orient are confident he will recover in time for the game which is to be shown live on Sky TV.

Orient's assistant manager Paul Clark said: "Matthew was making a good recovery at the start of last week but as soon as he tried to put some pressure on the knee he endured a lot of pain. But we are hopeful that he will be okay for the Rochdale match."

Orient were due to give another runout to Brazilian midfielder Cave Castro M Benicio in a friendly against Oxford today.
