'Middle-finger' rivals Viktor Ahn and Sjinkie Knegt face showdown in speed skating quarter-final

The last time these two met, it didn't end well. The image of Dutchman Sjinkie Knegt letting rival Viktor Ahn know exactly what he thinks of him went around the world. And now the two speed-skaters are set to resume hostilities in Sochi.

The pair both qualified from their heats in the men's 1000m short track event today and are now due to face each other in the quarter-finals on Saturday - just weeks after Knegt was disqualified for giving his rival a two-finger salute at the European Championships in Dresden in Germany.

Russia's Ahn, who is bidding to add to his three Olympic gold medals, was the target of the fairly emphatic gesture from Knegt after leading Russia to a relay win.
