Mo Farah is up for date at Palace

Mo Farah has confirmed he will compete over 5,000 metres at the Aviva London Grand Prix on July 13.

The 29-year-old world and European champion stormed to victory over 3,000m in last year’s Diamond League meeting at Crystal Palace and is delighted to return there for his last event in Britain before the Olympic Games.

Farah, who trains in Portland, Oregan, said: “It’s nice to race back home as I miss London and it’s not until you’re back you realise how much you miss it.

“We always get a great crowd at Crystal Palace and I’m really looking forward to competing on home soil before the Olympics.

“I think home support really gives British athletes an edge over our rivals, and that support will not only make a massive difference to us at Crystal Palace but also at the London Games.”
