Olympic champion Jessica Ennis-Hill today told how motherhood has changed the way she views life, as she prepares to defend her Olympic crown in Rio.

The heptathlete, 30, who won gold in the 2012 London Olympics, is also the current world champion after an astonishing comeback victory last summer just 13 months after giving birth to son Reggie.

Ennis-Hill, an ambassador for Games timekeeper Omega, told the Standard: “Having Reggie has definitely changed my outlook on life in general and has made me a much more relaxed athlete. I have learnt to leave my training at the track and focus on him at home.

"This helps me keep everything in perspective... I also want to do well for my son.”

British Cycling has suspended technical director Shane Sutton after allegations of sexism, which he denies, and claims that he called Paralympic cyclists derogatory names.
