Ticket sales for the 2013 World Cup final have reached 35,000, organisers said today.
Sally Bolton, RLWC2013 general manager, believes the competition in October and November is enjoying a spin-off from last summer's Olympics, with fans keen to watch major sports events.
Organisers say they have also opened new areas of the stadia for the opening ceremony at the Millennium Stadium and the Wembley semi-final double-header following promising ticket sales.
"Following the success of the London Olympics we are seeing large numbers of people wanting to be part of major sporting events," Bolton said.
"We are clearly already attracting new fans to the game - 60 per cent of ticket-buyers for the tournament and 70 per cent of our Wembley customers have never bought tickets for a major rugby league match before.
"It's no surprise that the big three games at the Millennium Stadium, Wembley and Old Trafford are still doing so well, with 35,000 tickets already gone for the final.
"They are the showpiece events of the tournament and fans are recognising what great value we are offering for what is the pinnacle of our sport."
Organisers also report healthy sales at Rochdale, where Fiji play Ireland in Group A, and England's group games against Ireland and Fiji in Huddersfield and Hull.
