Otto says no to Germany

Greece coach Otto Rehhagel has turned down an offer to take control of Germany's national team. The 65-year-old German had been touted as a replacement for Rudi Voller but has decided to guide his newly-crowned European champions through to the next World Cup in Germany in 2006.

Franz Beckenbauer, who heads a commission at the German Football Association charged with replacing Voller, said: "I was surprised. I was expecting to discuss the details of the contract.

"I think emotional reasons prevailed for Rehhagel."
