Hail Padraig: Harrington shelters from the storm

Padraig Harrington and Trevor Immelman, winners of three majors between them last year, were left with plenty of ground to make up after the first round of the Abu Dhabi Championship.

Open and US PGA champion Harrington, in his first event of 2009, could only finish four holes before a hailstorm stopped play for more than two hours.

The Irishman failed to shine on his return with a one-under-par 71 leaving him five behind clubhouse leaders, Swedes Johan Edfors and Mikael Lundberg.

South Africa's Immelman, who struck gold at the Masters, was a further shot back.
