Neil Shipperley ended his 17-game goal drought for Crystal Palace by scoring in the 2-1 win at Bradford and manager Iain Dowie said: "That was a huge relief for him. He's had a difficult time in front of goal.

"But although he hasn't been scoring, his contribution to the side has been important. The other players were delighted for him. We showed great spirit, great desire and a lot of hunger."

Palace appear to have turned the corner after skirting with the First Division relegation zone but Dowie urged caution. "I don't know if we are good enough to make the play-offs," he said.
