Parlour asks for words of comfort

Arsenal midfielder Ray Parlour has expressed his desire to stay at Highbury and wants to hear manager Arsene Wenger tell him he is part of the club's plans.

Parlour has been linked with a number of Premiership clubs after reportedly voicing his displeasure at being left out of the FA Cup Final starting line-up.

But the 28-year-old England international said: "I've heard the speculation about the interest in me.

"I have to state that my heart belongs to Arsenal and that is where I intend to stay. But sometimes you need to hear you're wanted and for the boss to put you straight on where you stand."
