Premier League - Jol was not dismissed

Tottenham manager Martin Jol was mistaken in believing referee Phil Dowd sent him off in Sunday's bad-tempered Barclays Premiership draw at Blackburn.

Jol thought the referee had dismissed him in the dying moments of the match, because of his protests at the red card issued to Tottenham's Hossam Ghaly. But a Premier League spokesman tonight clarified the situation.

"He was not sent off. The referee just asked him to stand away," he said.
