£15m Forlan tops Villa wish list
Diego Forlan could become Aston Villa's record signing after boss Martin O'Neill was revealed as the mystery man chasing his signature.
The Uruguay striker is top of the transfer list O'Neill has prepared for chief executive Richard FitzGerald but the former Manchester United forward has a £15million exit clause in his Villarreal contract.

Villa's previous biggest transfer was the £9.5m paid to River Plate for Juan Pablo Angel. O'Neill will have to beat off interest from Valencia, Sunderland and possibly Liverpool to sign Forlan, who said: "It's not only Liverpool who've asked about signing me. In January, I rejected a loan move to Sunderland. I also know another Premier League club are asking about my availability."
