QPR trial for Gustafsson

14 April 2012

Swedish goalkeeper Eddie Gustafsson is to be given a trial by Queens Park Rangers. The 27-yearold will play in a specially arranged reserve match today.

Gustafsson, who narrowly missed out on a place in his country's Euro 2004 squad, is a free agent after leaving Swedish club Molde. Rangers manager Ian Holloway has been searching for cover for Chris Day following a serious injury to his understudy Nicky Culkin.

Meanwhile, Holloway is not expected to return to work until Thursday at the earliest as he recovers from the virus that has kept him away from the training ground for nearly a fortnight.

Chief executive Mark Devlin said: "His illness is taking longer to get out of his system than expected."
