Quins first up for capital

It falls to Harlequins to complete the first part of a London 'treble' this weekend when they face Montferrand in the Parker Pen Challenge Cup Final.

The match kicks off in the Madejski Stadium at noon tomorrow in deference to Millwall's FA Cup clash with Manchester United - the second leg of a treble completed by Wasps' Heineken Cup clash with Toulouse on Sunday.

Harlequins won this tournament in 2001 and the final offers automatic qualification to the Heineken Cup next season.

That is a huge financial carrot for Quins, who are planning a new stand to increase capacity at The Stoop for new fans.

Harlequins have recalled Jon Dawson at tight-head prop in place of Jason Leonard, who is among the replacements, while Paul Burke (pictured) replaces Andy Dunne at fly-half.

Montferrand, who include former England hooker Richard Cockerill, will be favourites.

"They will offer us a very severe challenge and have a fantastic squad of players," said Mark Evans, the Harlequins head coach.

"They are a very different side from the Narbonne team we beat in the final three years ago. They have a strong forward pack and some powerful backs."
