Radcliffe survives fall scare

World cross country champion Paula Radcliffe survived a scare which, for a split second, she feared could have ended her chances of making her marathon debut in London this Sunday.

She was training along a river bank accompanied by former Chicago marathon champion Marian Sutton. Sutton, riding a bike, was handing out drinks when the pair collided.

Radcliffe was not hurt but said: "There was a split second I feared the worst. I've been paranoid."
