Ray of hope for Hoddle

Ray Lewington today backed Glenn Hoddle to be a success at Wolves and claimed he was unfairly criticised for his poor past relationships with players.

The former England and Tottenham manager takes charge of the struggling Molineux club for the first time at Watford tomorrow.

"There is not a manager alive who does not have problems with players," said Hornets boss Lewington. "It's only when it gets in the press you get to hear about it. Usually it is kept quiet.

"Glenn is a top coach. When he was manager of England we had one of our best spells in recent years."

Neil Cox returns after suspension and Dominic Blizzard is on standby for Brynjar Gunnarsson.
