Real deal for Emilio

Former Real Madrid striker Emilio Butragueno has been named as the club's new sporting director.

The 41-year-old replaces Jorge Valdano, who resigned in June shortly before Florentino Perez was re-elected as club president.

Butragueno was a key member of the Real team that won five consecutive Spanish league titles between 1986 and 1990, scoring 217 goals in 560 appearances.
