Return of potent pairing

14 April 2012

Trevor Brooking will welcome back the productive strike force of Jermain Defoe and David Connolly against Burnley tomorrow.

The pair, who have nine league goals between them this season, were suspended for Wednesday's 1-1 draw against Norwich and were sorely missed. Replacements Neil Mellor and Richard Garcia were unable to find the back of the net as the team relied on an own goal to seal the point.

Both are set to make way at Upton Park tomorrow in a straight swap but Brooking has problems in midfield.

Kevin Horlock (suspended) and Steve Lomas (ankle) are both ruled out, while Matthew Etherington (shin) is doubtful.

Brooking said: "I am desperate to win this game and I hope the players will want to impress the new manager."
