Roma 'keen' to sign Carlo

Adrian Curtis13 April 2012

Chelsea goalkeeper Carlo Cudicini is being targeted by Italian champions Roma.

According to reports today Fabio Capello, coach of the Serie A team, is hopeful he can get Cudicini at a reasonable price as the 28-year-old is contracted to Chelsea for just one more year.

Capello would also allow veteran striker Gabriel Batistuta to move in the opposite direction, although the Argentina international has been touted around the Premiership before now.

However, Cudicini, a £160,000 signing from Castel di Sangro, said: "I have not heard of anything, but rumours are always flattering.

"At the same time, I hope my performances for Chelsea will result in a longer contract than the one I signed. Should they sell me it will make a handsome bargain. But I would rather stay at Chelsea."
