Ronaldo accused in new 'cheat' controversy

Manchester United's Cristiano Ronaldo has been accused of diving for the second time in his short career at Old Trafford.

The 18-year-old winger was branded a cheat by Stuttgart goalkeeper Timo Hildebrand after winning a penalty in United's 2-1 Champions League defeat on Wednesday, just three weeks after Chris Perry accused him of diving in a Premiership game against Charlton.

Hildebrand said: "I had been told that Ronaldo had a reputation in England for diving and I have to say after this game I can see why that is. He definitely dived for his penalty.

"I was behind him and the next minute he was on the floor. I made slight contact with the player, but it was a reflex action. The referee was fooled."

David Beckham, meanwhile, is expected to resume training with Real Madrid today and should be fit to face Espanyol on Sunday.

The England captain missed Real's 3-1 Champions League win in Porto on Wednesday night with a foot injury.
