Ronnie's on top of world again

14 April 2012

Ronnie O'Sullivan guaranteed himself another season as world No1 after he defeated Matthew Stevens 10-8 in the Irish Masters final in Dublin.

Victory in a gripping match that saw Stevens recover from 6-1 down to share the first 16 frames also means O'Sullivan has won three ranking events in a season for the first time and the win assures O'Sullivan of the top ranking.

"It's great to have sewn it up with two events to go," he said after taking the £40,000 first prize.
