Australia braced for test of brutal physicality against England

Australia scrum-half Will Genia is expecting a contest of brutal physicality when the Wallabies face England at Twickenham on Saturday and praised the “winning brand of rugby” the hosts have developed under Aussie Eddie Jones.

England have won all five of their matches against Australia under Jones, but Genia – who is set to win his 100th cap this weekend – believes the Wallabies’ will “lift themselves” after a tricky year in a bid to end 2018 on a high.

Asked what he was expecting from England, Genia said: “That physicality is a huge strength of theirs because of the forward pack they have, then someone like Ben Te’o and I think Manu [Tuilagi] might be back.

“Having someone like [Owen] Farrell in the team they dictate the game really well with their kicking. They just play to their strengths, physicality, playing the territory battle really well and they don’t shy away which is certainly something I admire.

“They know their strengths, stick to them, and they play a winning brand of rugby.”
