Act of foul play: Chris Hala’ufia will be out for eight weeks

London Irish no8 Chris Hala'ufia has been handed an eight-week ban for a dangerous tackle on Northampton's Shane Geraghty during last month's LV Cup match.

Hala'ufia pleaded guilty before an RFU disciplinary panel last night.

Panel chairman Jeremy Summers said: "This was a cynical act of foul play, with the player making no attempt to execute a lawful tackle."
