Delon Armitage will leave London Irish at the end of the season to link up with his brothers, Steffon and Guy, at Toulon.

The England full‑back, who lived in the south of France as a teenager, has signed a two-year deal with the French club.

London Irish head coach Toby Booth said: “We are sad to see him leave but wish him the best and thank him for his considerable involvement in our success.”

Armitage, who has played 165 matches for the Exiles since his debut in 2003, said: “I will go away with some fantastic memories. It’s the right time in my rugby career to move on.

“I am looking forward to joining Steffon and Guy but my immediate priority is ensuring that Irish finish the season on a high with two victories.”

Armitage scored two tries on Saturday as Irish were beaten 28-19 by Saracens, who today announced the signing of South Africa lock forward Alistair Hargreaves.
