I'm ready to play, insists Mike Tindall

Mike Tindall insisted today that his marathon wedding celebrations will not distract his focus on trying to win back the World Cup for England.

The 32-year-old vice captain, part of the triumphant 2003 World Cup side, spent the weekend along with several of his team mates, partying through the night following his wedding to Zara Phillips in Edinburgh.

He returned to camp yesterday after the rest of the squad had been put through a gruelling fitness session by team manager Martin Johnson. But he is adamant he is more focused than ever on success in New Zealand.

"It's fine to be back," he said. "The weekend was good, it was everything I thought it would be but I always knew I'd be coming back in after.

"It's not weird at all. It had always been planned this week and Zara is riding this week so it was always going to be like this. I've always had the ability to focus on what I'm doing at each time. That focus was on training up to the point I left on Thursday.

"Obviously I then enjoyed the weekend, I did that, and then it's a case of being back and hoping I get picked to have a run around on the weekend."

Johnson will name his team for Saturday's sold out warm-up game with Wales tomorrow, and Tindall remains desperate to play.

He said: "Hundreds of boys get married and then come into work after the weekend. I know there was a little bit more going on around ours than normal but it's the same with preparing for games. But of course I want to play this Saturday."
