Rowntree knows visitors are on a mission

Forwards coach Graham Rowntree believes France are coming to Twickenham determined to revive their Six Nations campaign by halting England’s Grand Slam bid.

France will make changes for Saturday, having lost their opening games to Italy and Wales and Rowntree (above) is sure their pack will be fearsome. He said: “Their coach, Philippe Saint-Andre, has said this will be their Grand Slam match and a win over us at Twickenham will change the whole complexion of their Six Nations.

“We expect to see Thomas Domingo coming into their front row and he is technically very good and has been around for some years. We totally respect their forwards.”

Rowntree has been impressed by Saracens prop Mako Vunipola who is pushing for a start ahead of Harlequins’ Joe Marler. “Mako has been one of the real breakthrough players of the season,” he said. “We’re well stocked with front-row talent.”

WALES will face Italy in Rome on Saturday with the same XV who beat France but Sam Warburton and Alun Wyn Jones come in on the bench for Aaron Shingler and Lou Reed.
