The Ryder Cup is fast approaching and Thomas Bjorn will make the final call on his four wildcard picks on Wednesday afternoon.

After Thorbjorn Olesen claimed the final qualifying spot over the weekend, the Danish captain now knows eight of his twelve, but has been given somewhat of a headache with England’s Matt Wallace claiming his third win of the year at Made in Denmark on Sunday, winning a four-man play-off to do so.

There have been calls for the Londoner to claim the final spot in Bjorn’s four wildcard picks, though it may have come just a little too late for the 28-year-old.

Ryder Cup icon Ian Poulter is certain to get the call, while Paul Casey and Henrik Stenson – who has recovered from an elbow issue – are all likely to be included.

That leaves a host of golfers vying for that final spot, with Thomas Pieters and Rafael Cabrebra-Bello the favourites. 2017 Masters champion Sergio Garcia has endured a terrible year, missing the cut at all four of the lasts majors, but boasts a fantastic Ryder Cup record, while the likes of Matthew Fitzpatrick, Russell Knox and Eddie Pepperrell all have somewhat of a case.
